Copyright Rules
We must apologize in advance for the prohibitions listed below. Please realize that we support our families with income from the sale of the photographs we make. It is no secret that the digital age has allowed the less honest individuals among us to copy our work. Make no mistake: this is stealing. When they are caught, the fines are very large.
International copyright laws prohibit the reproduction and/or alteration of photographs in any other way without the express written consent of the photographer. No Photos may be digitally altered, enhanced, reproduced, or photocopied for this reason.
Photos may not be used on shirts, hats, plates, etc. without a paid copyright release from Rick Bate.
Photos may not be used on the internet without a paid copyright release from Rick Bate.
But getting permission is not that difficult. We do understand your situation as well.
All 5x7 or larger photographs come with a limited release for reproduction in trade publications and/or horse show programs.
A release to use a photo you have already purchased on the internet is $10 per photo. We will send you an appropriately sized file (500x500 pixels maximum) by email with the release. If you would prefer us to burn you a CD instead, please add $5.00 for shipping and handling and we will mail it out with the release.
Likewise, a release to use a photo on shirts, hats, plates, etc. is $10 per photograph per item.
